This is a blog about Alaska science — specifically, science in the Interior. It’s also a blog about observation, discovery and taking those blinders off and really looking at the world around you while travelling from A to B.

My name’s Kelsey Gobroski. I am a digital media producer at the University of Alaska Museum of the North in Fairbanks, Alaska. I’ve been a radio intern at KTOO News in Juneau and worked for the legislative show Gavel to Gavel I graduated in May 2012 with a degree natural resources management at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), as well as minors in Russian and journalism. I copy-edited and covered science for the Sun Star student newspaper. UAF granted me access to Alaska-specific research. Sidenote: My viewpoints amount to “Alaska and science are really neat!” That said, those views are my own, and do not reflect wherever I am working or have worked.

I love jumping from study to study to better understand things I see every day, as well as things I never knew existed. I also love lichen, the Tanana River, Russia, and Fairbanks summers.
